Basic Life Support for the Healthcare
Provider
This Course is designed for Healthcare
providers like Nurses, Physicians, EMT’s and
allied health care professionals as well as
First Aid Responders who require a high
level of BLS Training.
Course objectives:
-
To provide information about heart
disease, heart and lung function, risk
factors, signs and symptoms for action,
prudent heart living, the chain of
survival, and the warning signs and risk
factors for stroke.

To provide information on special
resuscitations, Stroke, Hypothermia,
Near-Drowning, Trauma, Electric Shock,
Pregnancy, Allergies, and Asphyxiation.

To instruct candidates in adult one and
two-rescuer CPR, Child CPR, Infant CPR
and management of Foreign Body Airway
Obstruction.

To instruct in the use of barrier
devices, airway adjuncts, and oxygen
therapy.

To instruct in the use of Automated
External Defibrillators (optional)

Assessment: Candidates are required
to complete both written and skills
evaluations. A score of 84% or better must
be achieved in the written examination.
